HIGH FIVE

Privacy Policy

Last updated: July 6, 2026

1.Introduction

At High Five ("the app", "the service", "we", "us") we take your privacy seriously. This policy explains what personal data we process when you use the application and the gethighfive.app website, for what purpose, on what legal basis, who we share it with, how long we keep it and what rights you have.

High Five is a social challenge app: you join groups, accept daily challenges, upload a video or photo as proof, members vote on each other's proofs and you keep streaks going. To make all of this work we need to process some data, as detailed below.

2.Data controller

The controller of your data is the owner of High Five. You can contact us about anything relating to this policy or your data at:

3.What data we collect

a) Your account data

You identify yourself through sign-in providers (Google and, where applicable, Apple). We receive your basic profile data from them: name, email address, profile photo and an account identifier. We never have access to your password.

b) Content you create in the app

c) Purchases

The only paid product is premium shields. Purchases are processed through the App Store (Apple) or Google Play; we do not receive or store your card details. We only receive the confirmation (receipt/purchase token) needed to credit your shields.

d) Technical and diagnostic data

4.How we use your data and legal basis

Purpose Legal basis (GDPR)
Create your account and provide the service (groups, challenges, proofs, voting, streaks, shields). Performance of a contract (art. 6(1)(b)).
Send you notifications about challenges, voting and results. Performance of a contract and legitimate interest; consent at the operating-system level, revocable in your device settings.
Process and credit your premium shield purchases. Performance of a contract (art. 6(1)(b)).
Ensure security, prevent abuse and enforce the rules of the game (e.g. that you don't vote on your own proof). Legitimate interest (art. 6(1)(f)).
Diagnose crashes and improve app stability and quality. Legitimate interest (art. 6(1)(f)).

We do not use your data for automated decisions with legal effects or for third-party advertising, and we do not sell your personal data.

5.Proof videos/photos and their automatic deletion

Videos or photos you upload as proof are stored temporarily and are automatically deleted 48 hours after upload. We keep no historical archive of your proofs.

While available, your proof is visible to the members of your group so they can vote on it. If it's a video, to reduce its size the app may compress it on your device before uploading, and it removes the audio track before upload. Photos are uploaded as taken/picked, without compression.

6.Who we share your data with

With other users

High Five is a social app. Within the groups you belong to, other members can see your username, your avatar, your proof videos/photos (during the 48 h), your streak and the voting results. Only share content you want your group to see.

With service providers (processors)

We rely on providers who process data on our behalf so we can offer the service:

For legal reasons

We may disclose data if required by law or to protect our rights, our users or the public.

7.International transfers

Our providers (Google) may process data on servers located inside and outside the European Economic Area. When data is transferred outside the EEA, such transfers rely on appropriate safeguards, such as the Standard Contractual Clauses approved by the European Commission.

8.How long we keep data

9.Your rights

If you are in the European Economic Area, you have the right to access your data, rectify it, erase it, restrict or object to its processing and to portability. To exercise them, write to [email protected].

You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the competent supervisory authority (in Spain, the Spanish Data Protection Agency (AEPD)).

10.Deleting your account and data

You can request deletion of your account and associated data at any time by writing to [email protected] from the email you registered with, or from the corresponding option in the app settings when available. We will handle your request without undue delay. Note that some content shared in a group (such as votes already cast) may persist in aggregated or anonymized form.

11.Security

Data is transmitted encrypted (HTTPS/TLS) and stored on Google Firebase infrastructure with encryption at rest. Database access is restricted by security rules that limit who can read or write each piece of data. No system is 100% secure, but we apply reasonable measures to protect your information.

12.Minors

High Five is not directed to children under 14 and we do not knowingly collect data from children under that age. If you believe a minor has provided us data without proper consent, contact us and we will delete it.

13.Changes to this policy

We may update this policy occasionally. We will post the revised version on this same page and update the "Last updated" date. If the changes are significant, we will notify you by reasonable means within the app.

14.Contact

If you have any questions about this Privacy Policy or how we handle your data, write to [email protected].
